1. Serta 43807 Air Health and Wellness Chair for Short Person

After nearly 2 years of ownership, I can still report this is the best chair I’ve ever owned. The chair is as supportive as when I first purchased it. The foam has not collapsed and barely shows any imprints. Even the armrests aren’t showing wear yet, even after rubbing against the underside of my desk every time I get up and push the chain in. Such happy, much pleased!

This is the most amazing chair I’ve ever owned. Extremely simple to assemble (took less than 30 minutes). Provides ample support (the best of any chair I’ve owned) for lower, mid and upper back (I’m 5’10”). Materials seem very high quality, especially the seat cushioning materials. The bottom seat isn’t going to go flat for years I’d wager.

One thing to note, after I used this chair for about three back-to-back days for about 8 hours each day I was a little sore. The soreness vanished after the third day and has not returned. I’m going to assume I was sore because the chair greatly assists in keeping you in a neutral posture. I have scoliosis and pretty terrible posture especially for long periods without assistance, so I imagine the muscles that would hold a typical person in the correct posture were underutilized initially for me.

2. Black Faux Leather Petite Low Height Chair

The Petite Ergonomic Chair is built for comfort. Featuring seven chair adjustments including seat height, lumbar support, arm height, tilt lock, seat tension, arm width, and SynchroTilt, this chair ensures comfort for every user. The thick memory foam seat is responsive and adds additional support to keep the user comfortable throughout the workday. The 100 PVC-free Black polyurethane upholstery make this chair durable and easy to clean. Thie chair is BIFMA rated and approved by the American Chiropractic Association.

This product has been Greenguard certified to support better indoor air quality for offices, homes, schools and healthcare facilities. Products that are Greenguard certified are regularly tested to ensure that their chemical and particle emissions meet acceptable pollutant standards.

I’ve sat in office chairs for a long, long, time. At 5′ 4″ and 110lbs, that means I’ve spent a very long time in very uncomfortable chairs that were never designed for someone as small as me (and I’m on the large side of petite!). While my chiropractor appreciates the financial gain of my extended discomfort, I regret this chair may see an end to our relationship.

An actual, honest to god, petite chair. No fooling. …are you ready for the big one?! …I actually use the armrests! I know, right! Insanity! AND …I even had to raise them!!!! Holy F-ing Heck man! The first chair, ever, I’ve been able to use the armrests on.

The tilt resistance adjustment can actually be reduced enough that I can lean back in the chair, and the chair will actually lean back (whoa!!!). Instead of all previous chairs that required me to quite literally climb up onto them and put my full body weight against the backrest to get them to lean back.

Pneumatic seat height adjustment goes low enough that my feet are squarely on the ground and there’s no pressure on the back of my knees.

The seat cushion is wonderfully dense and thick. I don’t feel like my bones are pressing against the seat bottom. Nor does it feel like the cushion is so poorly manufactured that after 6 months of use it will break down and I’ll have to buy another cushion to place on top of it. (time will tell) (UPDATE: 6 months and seat cushion broke down. Still, it’s far easier to find a replacement seat cushion than to find a petite chair!)

If this chair has any cons, it’s only that it isn’t a high back, and you can’t tilt the seat angle. The back ends at my shoulders so there’s no headrest, and the seat angle is flat, it would be nice if it were adjustable to angle back or forward slightly. If the manufacturer came out with a new model exactly the same as this model, with just those modifications, I’d buy it right up.

3. AmazonBasics High-Back Executive Chair

Best Office Chair For Short Person

You want an office chair that will get you through your day. Whether you’re responding to emails, evaluating reports, or brainstorming with colleagues, the AmazonBasics high-back executive chair provides not only sleek, professional style, but also sophisticated support for all-day comfort.

Ideal for personalized comfort, the AmazonBasics executive chair features a butterfly seat plate, adjustable settings, and curved contours to help keep your back supported and your body properly aligned—an important component when sitting for prolonged periods of time. To raise the seat, remove your weight from the chair, then pull up on the pneumatic control handle. To lower the seat, stay seated and pull up on the handle until you’re at the preferred height. The executive chair can be adjusted from 41.34 to 45.08 inches high.

In addition to raising and lowering the height of the seat, the handle also controls the tilt of the chair, from rocking back and forth to not rocking at all. A tilt-tension knob underneath the seat makes it easier or harder to rock back in your chair, depending on which way you turn the knob.

Offering a versatile range of motion, the executive chair swivels 360 degrees for multi-tasking convenience, and its durable nylon casters allow for smooth-rolling mobility from one area of your office to another or to the meeting room and back again.

4. Flash Furniture Mid-Back Leather Chair with Arms for Short Person

This is the perfect chair for those looking to find something on a budget and don’t wont to spend like hundreds of dollars! It took me about 10 minutes to build and the instructions are fairly simple. The only problem I had was aligning the arm rests with the respective screw holes mainly because you have to squeeze together the chair bottom and top first before you screw in the arm rests. The chair is super comfy, easily rolls on carpet fine, and you can set the type of tilt you want. Overall I would recommend those who really need a comfy chair to do simple computer work or even homework should definitely give this chair a chance.

5. High Back Black Mesh Short Person Executive Office Chair with Flip-Up Arms

I am really impressed with this chair. I shopped around on multiple sites and in stores trying to find the right chair at the right price. Mesh back was a must because I don’t have air conditioning and in the summer it gets really hot here. I didn’t want to be sticking to leather. I need lumbar support because I have a bad back, it must rock also because I fidigt a lot when I’m writing. Something about the rocking helps me focus. As for the assembly, I’m pretty handy at putting stuff together, you name it, I’ve probably assembled it by myself.

This chair went together in about 20 mins. The instructions were easy to understand and follow. All the hardware is steel, not the crappy aluminum you get from foreign products sometimes. The plastic parts are heavy duty also. All in all, this chair meets my needs, was within my budget, and seems to be of excellent quality.

When attaching both the arms and the support base, get the blots finger tight first until you get them all in, then go back and tighten them in a criss corss pattern, this ensures you still have a little play if you need to adjust the positions at all.

6. Essentials Executive Chair Short Person Office Chair

I really was concerned because of the reviews. But its really a nice chair. The jury is still out on how long will it last. But it is comfortable now. I received the grey one and I really like the color. I could almost take a nap in it. Great support for my back and head. Previously my other chair was pretty skimpy on the cushion. It also had a lower back. I didn’t realize how comfortable a higher back is. I also can sit up in it without leaning back and still feel supported. I just wanted to say that it’s difficult to pick a chair without sitting in it. And I think I did ok.

7. Office Star Mesh Back & Seat Managers Chair

Simple design that’s simply comfortable. This simple, yet functional design features multiple ergonomic adjustments including 2-to-1 synchro tilt, pneumatic seat height adjustment, and angled adjustable arms. You’ll enjoy the comfort of the AirGrid back with built-in lumbar support as it conforms to your body for passive ergonomic support during those long workdays. Plus, the 5700E is GreenGuard Certified for low chemical emissions, promoting good indoor air quality in your home or office.

How To Choose An Office Chairs For Short People?

Why short people have problems with office chairs?. What you need to do to get the right chair?. So why is it so difficult for short people to find the right office chair?.

It’s all down to the fact that most chair manufacturers make seats to suit the average built person whoever that may be. Fortunately, some enlightened manufacturers do cater to short people by providing the three vital functions you need. So let’s take a look at them now.

First seat depth adjustment

Frequently petite people’s legs are shorter than average and so they often end up having to sit on the edge of the chair. Because of the seats too deep. With a seat slider, you’re able to reduce the seat depth and set it to suit your leg length.

Second seat height adjustment

The real frustration for short people is finding this seat doesn’t go low enough then let them rest their feet squarely on the floor. Fortunately, more enlightened suppliers offer the choice to fit a smaller gas lift so that the seat adjusts low enough.

Third seat tension adjustment

When you’re smaller built it’s often very difficult to recline smoothly in your seat. You need to be able to set your seat tension to match your body weight. A tilt tension adjuster actually does this easily and that you work comfortably not feeling like you’re wrestling with your chair.

  • seat depth adjustment it’s vital for proper leg comfort
  • seat height adjustment needs to allow you to rest your feet squarely on the floor
  • you need to seat tension adjustment to match your body weight to your chair. No more fighting your chair back when you try to recline
